2024 Draft Profile: Georgia's RT Amarius Mims
Some prospects haven't played enough and require patience and development.
Between now and April, I plan on looking at as many prospects as I can for the 2024 Draft and will spend 200 snaps with each of them and then share my thoughts with you. I don’t claim to be some high draft authority and will have plenty of missed evaluations, but I watch each of these guys as best I can. I still think it is better to do the work than to shrug and say “nobody knows.” Each of these profiles will be short, but I will attempt to provide a thumbnail sketch as well as some information and videos (borrowed from twitter) to expedite our project.
Just a few more offensive line prospects before we go somewhere else on the field for a bit brings us to a fascinating prospect in Georgia’s Amarius Mims.
No. 65 - Amarius Mims - Age 21 - Junior - 6’7 - 340 - Georgia
Every year in the draft, we find prospects that are endlessly fascinating for various reasons. I would argue that Mims is going to be well up the list as just that kind of guy.
It will start with the fact that he was a very highly touted high school 5-Star who was seen as a can’t miss prospect. Then, because Georgia makes you earn your spot on the field, he was largely a reserve in 2021 and 2022. This was supposed to be the season in 2023 where he plays full-time to prove his merits, but instead played about six games due to an ankle injury.
