2024 Draft Profile: Oklahoma's OT Tyler Guyton
Guyton started at TCU and has worked his way up the ranks with a very high ceiling
Between now and April, I plan on looking at as many prospects as I can for the 2024 Draft and will spend 200 snaps with each of them and then share my thoughts with you. I don’t claim to be some high draft authority and will have plenty of missed evaluations, but I watch each of these guys as best I can. I still think it is better to do the work than to shrug and say “nobody knows.” Each of these profiles will be short, but I will attempt to provide a thumbnail sketch as well as some information and videos (borrowed from twitter) to expedite our project.
Today’s project is our 4th offensive lineman of probably about a dozen in total. OL appears to be the deepest spot in the draft and it coincides well with what the Dallas Cowboys need, so let’s try to do all dozen. Today it will be the young Tyler Guyton.
#60 - OL Tyler Guyton - RS Junior - 6’7 - 327 - Oklahoma (TCU)
In the draft game we have different types of prospects: plug and play guys who are ready today and developmental picks who seem to have everything available, but might need a few years in the NFL system to find their top potential after coaching and refinement occurs.
We would put Guyton into the second category, but he could probably also play right away if everyone agrees to show patience about the developmental process.
He is a monster who gets compared to Tyron Smith because he is huge and a top athlete. There aren’t many guys who can be 6’7, around 330, arms that are as long as you dream, and the ability to run in space quite well. The ability oozes.
