2024 Draft Profile: West Virginia's Zach Frazier
This center brings plenty to the party as an old school mauler who loves his job.
We have arrived at the end of my initial pass through offensive line in the Sturm 60. Time is already here at the end of February and we have give you a dozen profiles of different OL that I think all belong well in the top 50. This one is no different, but we will end here and move on to another position group next because we have a lot to accomplish before the party gets to Detroit.
Today, it is a top center on the board, West Virginia’s Zach Frazier.
No. 54 - Zach Frazier - Junior - 6’3 - 310 - West Virginia
Without fully knowing this, I am going to go out on a limb and assume that Zach Frazier is a West Virginia fan-favorite. He has to be. He was born there, grew up playing both ways in high school football in a small town, won four consecutive heavyweight wrestling state titles and then played four years of excellent football for the West Virginia Mountaineers. What else could someone do to become a local legend?
He was All Big-12 in his last three years where he switched from guard to center after the 2020 season and has been an absolute stud ever since. He is not a perfect player by any stretch, but when you start for four years, play over 3,200 snaps, and play well enough to get recognized as the best Big 12 center since Creed Humphery, I feel like we don’t need to sell too hard here.
