2024 NFL Draft Profile - FSU's Edge Jared Verse

A rusher who would have been in the '23 1st round stayed around for one more year.

The Cowboys are in a pretty decent spot on the edge, but we do know that DeMarcus Lawrence is not getting younger and with Dante Fowler and Dorance Armstrong leaving, we should be well aware of the best edges in this draft (in case we get a slider!) and that brings us to another blue-chip player, Jared Verse.

No. 5 - Jared Verse - Age 23 - RS Junior - 6’3 - 254 - 4.58 - Florida State

Verse was one of the very first players that I looked at in the 2024 draft, partly because we were made well aware of him in the build-up to the 2023 draft. He had the credentials and ability to be in the top half of last year’s round 1, but decided to stay in school. Its his journey and good for him on surviving the campaign healthy and ready to be taken up high in this year’s draft.
