2025 Draft - Michigan TE Colston Loveland
He has been earmarked for NFL success for a couple years. Let's see what he can do.
Before Tyler Warren broke out, we were told that this is probably the best tight end in the entire 2025 class. Let’s take a look at Colston Loveland from the Michigan Wolverines.
No. 18 - Colston Loveland - Age 20 - Junior - 6’5 - 245 - Michigan
I would like to say this going in, since I assume it will be the visceral reaction by many Cowboys fans: I know people will consider him a different version of Luke Schoonmaker, but Schoon had 630 yards over five years at Michigan. Loveland is at nearly 1500 yards in three years, so they are at two different levels of productivity.
The top recruit in Idaho in the class of ‘22 and the 4-star was rated the 10th best Tight End in America on his way to Michigan. He was a WR who kept getting bigger and stronger.
2022 Started as a true freshman.
2023 All Big Ten (1st Team), National Champion
2024 All Big Ten (2nd Team), and All-American (2nd Team)
2022 - 421 snaps, 59% receptions, 31% slot, 2 drops - 57.0 PFF
2023 - 568 snaps, 73% receptions, 49% slot, 5 drops - 75.5 PFF
2024 - 372 snaps, 68% receptions, 48% slot, 2 drops - 85.9 PFF
Loveland was a very high on the radar TE entering 2024, so we grabbed some high-leverage opportunities versus Texas, Michigan State, and Oregon to look at his work.
