Sawyer is a Pickerington, Ohio, native as a two-sport star and part of a large athletic family. He was a 5-star recruit in the class of ‘21 and committed to Ohio State as a high school sophomore. Did not play as a senior due to COVID. He was Ryan Day’s first recruit and Quinn Ewers freshman roommate.
