2025 Profile - Ohio St OL Donovan Jackson
The Buckeyes guard from Texas has it all and was perhaps the key to the title in 2024.
This is a player we probably should have finished long ago:
No. 74 - Donovan Jackson - Age 22 - Sr - 6’4 - 315 - 33.5 arms - Ohio St
Jackson was one of the best stories of this season in that the Buckeyes lost their fine LT Josh Simmons early and had to move Jackson to tackle for the first time. He had a very rough day at Penn State in his first start, but then became an outstanding tackle, too. By the playoffs, he was nothing close to a weakness. That said, I still like him as a guard at the next level, despite him showing he can also play some tackle in a pinch.
Native of Bellaire, Texas, and was a 5-star recruit who was also a track standout in shot put and discus. He was graded as the No. 7 recruit in the nation at the top of the class of 2021. He had offers from everywhere and chose Ohio State.
2022 All Big-Ten (1st) was a starter at left guard and played 2,000 snaps at guard over four seasons.
2023 All Big-Ten (1st)
2024 All Big-Ten (1st), All-American (1st), national champion. He moved from left guard to left tackle and arguably saved the season for the Buckeyes.
2022 - 827 snaps, LG, 13 QB Pressures, 2 sacks, 4 penalty - 76.7 PFF
2023 - 825 snaps, LG, 10 QB Pressures, 1 sacks, 0 penalties - 69.9 PFF
2024 - 816 snaps, LG and LT, 19 QB Pressures, 2 sacks, 2 penalties - 71.8 PFF
I decided to use his tape at guard for this exercise, so we will use Marshall in Week 4, Iowa in Week 6, and Oregon in Week 7.
