'24 Draft Profile - Alabama's Edge Chris Braswell
No question that Alabama has more than one edge worth considering this year.
Admittedly, there are players when we begin this process that needs no introduction, but when it comes to Alabama’s 2024 draft, that was always going to Dallas Turner on the defensive front and deservedly so. But, when going through Alabama’s tape, it sure suggested that we better circle back and look at the other edge, Chris Braswell.
No. 41 - Chris Braswell - Age 22 - Senior - 6’3 - 251 - 4.60 - Alabama
When you look at the different programs, it is clear that the deepest ones - Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, Ohio State – it often is a bad plan to assume things when a guy doesn’t play much as a youngster. Sometimes, they just have so many elite athletes that you have to wait your turn. Braswell is a great example. At Alabama, despite being a 5-star recruit – he did not play in a single game as a freshman. Then as a sophomore, it was almost completely special teams. As a junior it was a sub package that was mostly pass rushing and only as a senior did he get more than 500 snaps.
That is just how it goes with a program like that sometimes, because Braswell took over some games this year and I have to tell you that I wasn’t expecting that, but you will see it below.
