'24 NFL Draft Profile - Penn St's Chop Robinson
He has been compared to another Penn State rusher, but there is plenty left to prove.
I remember there were many years after Michael Jordan that we kept looking to Chapel Hill, North Carolina for another of his kind. Kenny Smith? Jerry Stackhouse? Vince Carter? Which Tar Heel shooting guard will be the next MJ?
The answer is simple. None of the above. The university is not the important part of a prospect. There are many components, but the most sacks since the year 2000 have been produced by North Carolina, Arizona State, Troy State, and Idaho State. I just say that to remind us that a blindingly fast edge from Penn State is not Micah Parsons this time. It is Chop Robinson and we do his profile today.
No. 44 – Chop Robinson – Age 21 - 6’3 - 254 - Penn State - 4.48
Chop is quite a guy to study. He transferred to Penn State after his first season at Maryland and quickly got his name on the radar of pro scouts with some moments of sheer brilliance.
That said, in three years he has barely played 1,000 snaps and his general production of 9.5 sacks in two years at Penn State is tough to fully reconcile.
He jumps off the screen at you and I was anxious to dive into his tape for sure.
