Cowboys Pregame Three Thoughts for Week 3 at Arizona
Getting you ready for the trip to the desert on Sunday at 3:25.
In keeping with our new bonus-piece tradition for Saturday Mornings, here are our Three Thoughts going into the Cowboys third regular season game, a road trip to play the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday Afternoon:
Things often go a little crazy on Cowboys trips to Glendale. I am not trying to convince anyone that State Farm Stadium has super powers or anything like that, but strange things happen when the Cowboys have played at this stadium since it opened in 2006. By the way, it is easy to distract me when you wander down the path of Arizona Cardinals home stadiums as this franchise has certainly lived in many different zip codes during its history. Would you believe Wrigley Field and Comiskey Park are both places where they have received mail for a decade? Busch Stadium in St Louis, of course and then Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, which is probably the one we think about most due to a Wilbur Marshall hit on Troy Aikman that gave him a massive concussion, Super Bowl 30, and Rattle and Hum all happened there. But, since ‘06 when young Tony Romo was making his third career start out here, the Cowboys have visited now six times and been a favorite six times. Unfortunately, going into Sunday, they have only won twice and will need Sundays game to even things at 3-3 all-time against these guys – despite always having a huge crowd of Cowboys fans at the game.
