Cowboys Riffs: No, I'm not trading Micah
I realize this is all contract posturing, but enough is enough. Parsons is not being dealt.
With a chance to catch-up on things today, I wanted to address some items that are probably more important than the games right now. Yes, the weekly cadence around here is focused on the games coming and going, but as you know, this thing is pretty cooked in 2024 and we have been in “get ready for 2025” mode for a bit.
That said, I feel that there are many topics that are often related and tied together that we have to continue to monitor and that many of you ask me about frequently. These are the core items that are in front of us. Some are small, some are big, and some are huge. I won’t get to all of them today, but I wanted to tackle one in particular that is being asked quite often. Then, in weeks to come, we can build off this and grab some others as many of you have requested some salary cap primers and updates on how things look in years to come. I don’t believe in getting too in depth on cap specifics, but we will make sure every person who subscribes here will know what is true and what is Cowboys-generated propaganda.
Today’s topic is the wisdom and feasibility of trading Micah Parsons.
My initial answer is that I think it is crazy to trade Micah. He is special. Very special. In fact, if you had the first pick in the draft, you might dream of finding a Micah Parsons available. He dominates in professional football at a very rare level and seems to absolutely love the game.
