Draft Profile - Notre Dame's Blake Fisher
Fisher lost his left tackle job, but that doesn't mean he isn't a high quality prospect.
We continue to work our way through all of the significant offensive line prospects who are said to be Top 100 guys and that brings us to yet another member of the Notre Dame offense. Already we have examined left tackle Joe Alt and running back Audric Estime, but let’s circle back yet again and look at the much discussed young right tackle, Blake Fisher:
No. 54 - Blake Fisher - RS Sophomore - Age 21 - 6’6 - 310 - Notre Dame
Fisher was a very highly-touted high school recruit who started at left tackle in his very first college game as a true freshman against Florida State to start 2021. Unfortunately, he lasted a little over a half and tore his meniscus and missed almost all of the rest of 2021. In doing so, the Irish pushed Joe Alt to the top left tackle spot and a true Wally Pipp situation occurred as Alt never gave the job back and Fisher was moved to right tackle.
That suggests to us that Fisher is extremely young (21st birthday was late March) and has the ability to perhaps play at both tackle positions. It also suggests that one more year at Notre Dame might have pushed him to near the top of the 2025 draft class, but he was not interested in waiting. He declared this year with some questions unanswered.
