Draft Profile - Washington's Edge Bralen Trice
Trice has been as productive as can be through his last two years for the Huskies.
We are closing in on the end of our first pass through the defensive edges by going to one of those names who really emerged down the stretch of this college football playoff. Bralen Trice announced his presence with a brilliant performance against the Texas Longhorns in the national semifinal. Let’s check out Trice today.
No. 8 - Bralen Trice - Age 23 - 6’4 - 245 - 32.5 arms - Washington
Trice is an interesting player for many reasons and the first one might be that he was listed as a huge edge at 274 pounds who had extraordinary length, too. Now, frequently, fans get frustrated because the NFL Combine feels like a ridiculous track meet in which players don’t actually play football, but I will say, when a 274 pound guy weighs 245 and his extraordinary length is actually not very extraordinary with 32.5” arms – which tie him with Chop Robinson for the shortest arms in the group we are studying – we understand why it is important to have them weighed and measured properly so we know what we are looking at.
But, in fairness to him and his wonderful statistical record, he was a very productive player and whether it was as a large or normal sized edge, the tape is the tape.
