Many Mavs loyalists are out on the franchise – and winning the lottery didn't change it.

I admit that this piece is a departure from the norms, but these are strange times.

Recently, there was a discussion on the Mavericks fanbase and how well they are healing after the spring that saw them shattered after the Luka Doncic trade to the Lakers and all that goes with that.

It did not go well, as we all know.

But, surely, winning the NBA lottery helped everyone heal, right? If you were sad about Doncic being gone, well then perhaps the Cooper Flagg future brought everyone back to their fandom, right?

No, not at all.

Many, many Mavericks fans are upset. Maybe even more upset that those who upset them – Nico Harrison and Patrick Dumont, in particular – are going to apparently “get away with it” and remain successful and relevant.

So, we did a segment on this on Monday on the Hardline. I put the audio here below so you can catch up, but basically, we became interested in the group of hardcore Dallas Mavericks fans who have changed their minds. They want a divorce and are not taken with the new dawn to make things right. They are still upset.
