It is time to draft and today is a huge day for the Cowboys. I wasn’t planning on doing much today on this topic, but I can’t get one prevailing thought out of my head regarding this pick tonight.

The Cowboys may need to take one of these tackles at No. 24 or even if they trade back. And when I say that, I doubt we are talking about the top four. Usually, we have them ranked like this:

  1. Joe Alt, Notre Dame

  2. Taliese Fuaga, Oregon St

  3. Olu Fashanu, Penn St

  4. Troy Fautanu, Washington

You can mix them around in your rankings, but that seems the top group and it also seems like they all probably are gone by the 20th pick or so.

So, now, you either take the top center or two, or you pivot to tackles 5-7.

Dane Brugler has them ranked thusly:

  1. Amarius Mims, Georgia

  2. Tyler Guyton, Oklahoma

  3. Kingsley Suamataia, BYU

I keep coming back to this trio as what Dallas might end up with at their first pick. And while it might be wrong, if I have time for one more piece and one more look at them, I want to have a decent handle on those three in particular.

Thus, today’s piece.
