I realize you are having a perfectly fine holiday week and there is no reason to get anyone upset.

If this is the sort of thing that upsets you, then I will advise you to take a deep breath and know it is all out of your hands.

The Cowboys are going to pay Micah Parsons a huge amount of money. This will no doubt stress you out because they have already paid Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb huge amounts of money. The sum total of all three of them will be the highest amount that has been paid to any three players on one team in the NFL, EVER.

That piece of information will be used to then try to convince you that it is a bad idea to have dominant football players on your roster.

Resist that urge.

The Cowboys do a lot of things incorrectly. A lot. But, paying the most dominant defensive player in the league (arguably) at an age where he is still younger than every player he is compared to (inarguably) is smart football business. And that is why locking up Micah Parsons up until 2029 is an absolute no-brainer.

Could they have saved money by doing it a year ago? Most certainly, because nobody in the sport was above $40 million back then unless they were a QB and now there are a few who both play in Ohio, incidentally. But, they were busy getting business done with guys that probably should have been locked down in 2023. You know the drill around here from the Jones Boys:
