The following is the first out of five scheduled essays about teams on our radar - the Commanders, Eagles, Giants, Longhorns, and Aggies – between now and the end of August, which will appear here to prepare us for the upcoming season from their perspectives. Each is not so much a standard preview, but rather my random thoughts about the team and where they stand for me before the 2025 campaign begins.

Washington has risen, again.

We knew at some point it would happen and this time it feels real.

Washington last won a Super Bowl in 1991. In 1992 was the last time the franchise had made the playoffs in consecutive years. In fact, 1991 was the last time the team even won double-digit games in consecutive years.

But, in 2024 they reached the NFC Championship Game and that means that the good times are here again. Because they went to that NFC Championship Game with a rookie head coach, a near-rookie owner, and a rookie QB and if that trio is half as good as everyone seems to think they are, Washington will be a problem in the NFC moving forward, for a long time.

Now, as we enter into 2025, the excitement levels are high and the “go for it” moves have been made. Washington is poised to switch from being the hunter to the hunted and it is time to visit about where they are and what they can do ahead.

And I have some mixed thoughts on this one, but let start going down the list.

– It starts with Dan Quinn.
