Three Thoughts - Clips at Mavs, Game 3
Los Angeles unravels in emotional Friday Night affair, Dallas takes lead in series, 2-1.
Three Thoughts is the way we summarize every playoff game for our local teams – even if we are watching the game past midnight on delay after covering the NFL Draft. Confession: I had to choose between the Cowboys Day 2 of the draft Morning After or documenting the events of Friday Night’s Mavericks huge Game 3 contest with the Clippers. I hope you are fine with my decision, because it seemed like an absolute no-brainer. The draft is important and why I am in Detroit this weekend, but in terms of timeliness and urgency, we have about 90 days before training camp. The Mavericks playoff clash demands our attention and we thank them for that. Hopefully the Stars will join them before it is too late.
Dallas and Los Angeles moved their series to the American Airlines Center in Dallas for the Weekend and played an emotional Game 3. Dallas was able to remain composed and led nearly the entire way after an explosive 2nd Quarter to take the win and the lead in the series, 101-90. The game may not have been as close as the flattering final score and now Dallas leads 2 games to 1 and can take real command of the series on Sunday Afternoon in Game 4.
These are My Three Thoughts:
–The Mavericks returned to the team we saw since the trade deadline in the last two games and it makes Game 1 all the more curious. This night in Dallas was one of those “New Mavericks” games and when they play like this, they can beat anyone, anywhere.
