My Three Thoughts - Stars at Knights, Gm 6

We had to know from the very beginning that Dallas would need Game 7 at home.

Well, if you were wondering what you were going to do with your mental space and nervous energy over the weekend, now you know. There will be a Game 7 and it will demonstrate an enjoyable night for America’s hockey fans and an excruciating experience for those who care about these two teams.

The Dallas Stars had a chance to take the easy path on Friday Night, but there is no such thing in the NHL Playoffs against a stubborn defending Cup Champ. Vegas stood tall and made one more play for a 2-0 win in Game 6.

These are my Three Thoughts:

–It was always going seven games. Always.

This is such a different experience writing about the Mavericks playoff journey and the Stars, which is based primarily on the quality of the opponent in Round 1. The Vegas Golden Knights may not be a team you like, but they should definitely be a team you respect and fear. They are a real champion and play like one. They have won it all and that doesn’t happen . They have a strong, straight spine that will not cave in because you pushed them a little. Dallas can absolutely survive this battle, but if they do it will be because they took it – not because Vegas coughed it up.
