Three Thoughts - Stars Stay Alive, Gm 3
In Vegas in a game they had to win, the Stars deliver just barely enough to get it done.
Three Thoughts on each and every DFW playoff game “for the Big 4” is a morning-after tradition that is followed with delight. These games demand our attention and should be savored. This is what we wait all year to get to so everything else can hold on until there is more time.
When people talk about how there is nothing quite like NHL Playoff hockey, late last night in Las Vegas is what we are talking about. If you witnessed it live as it ended at 1:15 am Central Time, you know that the excitement mixed with dread is an emotional roller-coaster unlike anything else in sports. The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat have never felt as real as overtime in the playoffs. But, this one ended with smiles in Dallas.
The Stars won Game 3 on the road, 3-2, in dramatic overtime fashion to perhaps begin to claw back into this series with the Vegas Golden Knights. The Knights still led the series, 2-1, but Monday’s Game 4 now grows in importance.
These are My Three Thoughts:
– Saturday Night was a character check of the highest order and the Stars passed it in impressive fashion. They played like they don’t believe this series is close to over, despite how we might feel from the bleachers.
Do you wish to fight or pack it in? Do you believe you can beat your nemesis four times in the next five games with much of that hockey to be played in a hostile environment? Because this proceeding can go much easier if you just lay down and get ready for your offseason.
To our delight, this Stars team responded with a lot of heart and its most determined effort in a long time. They have a spine and a desire to get back up and keep throwing punches and they showed it.
That says an awful lot about those Dallas Stars.
