NFL Draft Profile - Minnesota's Tyler Nubin

There is plenty to like for the old school safety out of Minnesota; if he is used properly.

I had not planned on doing too much on the light safety class, but I think we better do at least one more. If we think Iowa’s Cooper DeJean is a conversion corner to safety, let’s make sure we do the best college safety in this year’s group – Minnesota’s Tyler Nubin:

No. 27 - Tyler Nubin - Age 22 - Senior - 6’2 - 210 - Minnesota

Nubin spent most of his first two seasons at Minnesota waiting for the excellent Antoine Winfield, Jr, to move on to the NFL. He was obviously taking some notes, because by the time he got to his own draft, he had hit 13 interceptions in the Big 10 with all sorts of more splash plays. To have 3+ interceptions in three consecutive seasons for a deep safety is out of this world.
