Previewing Stars-Oilers with Sean Shapiro
Our resident hockey expert joins us to preview the third-round round series.
For the third straight year the Dallas Stars are in the Western Conference Final.
It’s one of the most impressive runs in the league right now, only topped by what the Florida Panthers have done going to the past three Conference Finals out East and winning the whole thing last June.
It’s the same opponent as 2024, the Edmonton Oilers, and it’s a chance at revenge for the Stars, who have been on the wrong side of this handshake each of the past two seasons.
As we do for each series, it’s time to preview things with our resident hockey expert and editor, Sean Shapiro.
Sean covers the Stars and the NHL over at his place, Shap Shots, and I highly suggest you follow his tremendous work here.
Ok, with that, let’s dive right in.
Bob: How exciting is the reality we have in front of us, Sean! We are going to have a rematch of the Western Conference Finals from 2024 by running it back in 2025.
Before we get too far into the next series, let’s play a game of what is good and what is not so good about the state of the Dallas Stars right now.
