Sometimes, I will go find some old projects that I completed from years back and share them with you when the relevance is particularly high. This one was back in 2021 (the ten year anniversary of the 2011 draft) when I was working at The Athletic and you can find the entire original version here.

Tyron Smith was one of my favorite Cowboys I have ever covered and he was also one of the most clear-cut draft picks I can ever remember. If you can just get Tyron Smith to fall to you, the draft will be an amazing success, I thought. And for once, I was right. For this project, I tried to talk to everyone possible to go through the entire process from the Cowboys perspective.

He retires today a Cowboy and will be in Canton before long. He was quite a player here and his draft story was worth re-telling. I hope you enjoy it if you missed it four years ago.
