That One Time I got to Interview Brett Favre
The football player who's career meant the most to me gave me 23 minutes in 2013
This one needs to be made public and I am happy it still exists in both audio and video forms.
Back in the day, I worked middays with Dan McDowell and Donovan Lewis on BaD Radio and it spanned from when Dan and I were together in 1999 all the way until February of 2020.
We had amazing times and I will always be friends with those boys. There is no doubt when you work every day with a show from age 26 until 48 that those ties bind.
One of the benchmarks we enjoyed was the relationship with the SMU Athletic Forum and they brought us all sorts of amazing get togethers from Lee Corso and Wayne Gretzky to Terry Bradshaw and Mia Hamm. The gold was everywhere.
Once upon a time, in April of 2013, they announced Brett Favre was coming to town. My guys knew what that meant to me, so they were so cool to basically say that they just wanted me to do the entire conversation by myself. They knew about my son named Brett, my Packers tattoo, my shares of Packers stock ownership, and the life of perhaps caring too much about that franchise since the day I was born. My life has obviously taken me on a much different path, but I will always be a kid from Wisconsin.
So, I had 23 minutes to talk with Brett Favre on this day in April of 2013. I had 23 hours of questions, but I needed to try to make it interesting for Dallas radio, so here is what happened in its entirety.
