The Dallas Stars Season Opening Thoughts
With the dawn of the new season comes a Thursday piece and many Stars items.
I know this time of year there are two types of posts – Dallas Cowboys football and other football. It pays the bills and it keeps the lights on, so I am happy to make sure we feed the beast so that the side ventures remain possible.
Most of that happens between January and August, but like was demonstrated last year – when I wrote about every single Texas Rangers playoff game on the way to winning the World Series – I am more than happy to find spots to fit something in.
While I am not sure how often I will write about the Stars before the end of Cowboys season, I will definitely write about them right now.
Without further set up, here are my many thoughts about this Stars season and what sort of team we should expect moving forward as a guy who will be sitting in the 300s where I always am this weekend for the home opener:
– It has been a while since we wrote about the team, but if you would like to remember what went wrong last year, that is where I started the other night. The quick summary of what went wrong? Well, the power play scored zero goals in the Edmonton series, the Stars worked hard to get home ice advantage only to lose a ton of games on home ice, and the best players all slumped at bad times.
