Three Thoughts - Mavericks Get The Throat
Minnesota fought back with plenty of vengeance, but Dallas outlast them in Game 3.
They just keep winning.
Dallas has won its 5th straight playoff game. This time, they took a dramatic Game 3 win at the American Airlines Center in Dallas from Minnesota, 116-107. The Mavericks are within one win in the next four games of going to its 3rd NBA Finals ever.
It hardly seems real that a team that missed the playoffs in 2023 has a chance to win it all in 2024. But, it is definitely real. They are now 11-4 in these playoffs.
These are My Three Thoughts:
–The Dallas Mavericks might be the most clutch team in the NBA right now. In fact, their record says they are. When you have two closers who are both as good as anyone when it counts, you have an arsenal of ammunition that suggests you just have to get the game into the clutch minutes with the game in range. When that happens, Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving will often do the rest.
At 9:16 pm, there was 6:56 left in the 4th Quarter and the score was tied 100-100. Dallas was holding on as they could not get stops from when Anthony Edwards found his game in the 3rd Quarter until this TV timeout.
I took to Twitter (as I am wont to do):
“11 and 77: bring it home. You might have to score every possession, btw.”
