Three Thoughts- Stars Take Control in Gm 4
Dallas looked like you'd expect the best road team in hockey to look on trip to Denver.
On a night when Dallas sports fans had their attention divided once again, the home arena was filled with a tense and dramatic battle that left the basketball team in a bit of a rough situation. Meanwhile, the hockey team, full of road warriors up in Denver, went about their business with all the tension typically reserved for a Monday night in Colorado in February.
They made victory look pretty easy, to be honest.
Perhaps that is the difference between a basketball team trying to prove it is capable of winning big in the NBA, but still somewhere in the secondary pack of upstarts, versus a big, bad hockey team that has already won its division, its conference in the regular season, and looks like it might be ready to punch its ticket to the Conference Finals with the swagger of a team on a mission.
As we said on Saturday, the Stars look like a team planning to be playing hockey in June this year. That is different from hoping they can survive. They are all-in and are acting like it, as they won Game 4 going away, 5-1, with perhaps even more emphatic force than they did in winning Game 3. This team is on a roll.
And these are My Three Thoughts:
– The system of the Dallas Stars is now full of belief, commitment, execution and is now clearly rolling downhill looking for victims. This is a team where one line after another storms over the boards and on to the ice looking for their responsibilities and then carries them out. They believe in themselves and each-other. And when you get a group together that knows they have something cooking, well, let’s just say that it is a fun time to follow a team this impressive.
