Xander Schauffele has done it again.

Just two months after he finally demonstrated that he is, in fact, capable of winning one of golf’s biggest tournaments, he has done it again to prove it was no fluke. This time at Royal Troon in The Open.

And with that, the 2024 professional golf major season has come to a close and we must wait 263 days before another one comes along with the 2025 Masters. It has been an exceptional major season this year and now have a run of seven consecutive American champions since Jon Rahm won the 2023 Masters.

It was a fascinating tournament in Scotland and one that provided several different experiences for players and spectators alike given the shifts in wind and weather and it resulted in the World No. 3 player winning another one.

These are My Three Thoughts:

  • Xander Schauffele demonstrated once again that he is world class in nearly every measure as a top player and now has been able to verify the statistics with two major championship titles in just nine weeks. Having made it to his 30th birthday before breaking through, he was noticeably more comfortable as a guy who now knows he is capable enough to win “the big ones”, too.
