Week 2: Cowboys Pregame Three Thoughts vs Jets
Getting you ready for New York's visit to town on Sunday at 3:25.
In that same quick and, hopefully, concise way we do things, here are the best and most prominent three thoughts about Dak Prescott and the Cowboys squaring off with Jets on Sunday for the Home Opener:
This is a massive bummer that we are not going to watch Aaron Rodgers back in AT&T Stadium. By my count, it really isn’t as bad as you might think. Yes, Aaron Rodgers won Super Bowl 45 at AT&T Stadium and the 2016 Playoff game against the Cowboys here (which is also known as his last career road playoff win), too. But, I think there are only two other regular season times he has come to town. A win in 2017 when Ezekiel Elliott was suspended (edit: he did play while suspension was being appealed) and an incredibly unlikely win in 2019 when the Packers came to town with almost no healthy wide receivers. So, 4-0 isn’t really that crazy, but yeah, he has never played badly in any of these games and the Super Bowl was likely the best game of his career and that 2016 playoff win might have been the best play of his career.
I know nobody would possibly want to see it again, but I am obligated to show it to you. This play is one of the most unlikely plays in NFL playoff history and if you want to read the Marinelli report from that week, here it is. It is just incredible for a couple reasons and one was documented that week about how it looks like all the defenders were playing the Hail Mary behind where Cook ran to set up a Mason Crosby field goal:
