Bob: Everything you write just makes me more glad & happy that you're back. I'm also pleased that you'll focus on the Cowboys for the season. I hope you can continue the analyses that you did with the other experts, in addition to the standard 3 weekly pieces.
Bob, I have heard Jerry asked about putting Jimmy in the ROH many times, but I have never heard it phrased as “ Jerry, do you realize most Cowboy fans are convinced that delaying Jimmy’s induction just makes you look petty? What’s your response to them? Are they right?”
What can he say then? That he doesn’t care what fans think? That would certainly fly in the face of his 24/7/365 publicity onslaught.
Ol’ Jerruh has a prepared response and deflect tactic for everything. He won’t give in to that rhetoric verbally, but man the redness on his face would be worth it!
I think Jerry wants a SB win without Jimmy before he puts him in, because he knows that everyone says it was only because of Jimmy that they won. That has got to be eating at him for all these years.
Man, a cowboys loss in the wild card round this season would be such a huge disappointment. I think we’re all going to look back at these last few years in the very weak NFC as a big missed opportunity if we don’t at least make it to the nfc championship once.
I’m getting tired of hearing that the NFC is weak just because all the premier QBs are in the AFC. If the Eagles and 49ers were in the AFC, they’d be a huge problem to even that team with Patrick “The Human Cheat Code” Mahomes. It’s disappointing that Dallas can’t get over Mount San Fran, but I think the Bills and Bengals would be in the same predicament too if in the NFC.
Where did I say the 9ers and eagles aren’t great teams? But the drop off from them to the next best competitor is huge compared to the amount of good teams in the afc.
How different are the following “in-the-mix” teams:
Ravens, Jags, Chargers, Dolphins (38 wins) vs
Cowboys, Vikings, Seahawks and Lions (43 wins)?
NFC Elite: Eagles & 49ers
The AFC just has one more “elite” team in the Chiefs / Bengals / Bills.
There were 4 teams in the NFC last year with 10+ wins (PHI, SF, MIN, DAL); 5 in the AFC (KC, BUF, CIN, LAC, BAL).
The Colts and Texans are so bad they make the bottom of the AFC look much better compared to the Bears and Cardinals in the NFC. Both the NFC and AFC South divisions were awful.
On the whole the AFC is one team better -- not as much a disparity as one would think.
We are talking about strength of the team, not which division are they in. And, of course, it is a projection – but a projection from putting in an awful lot of time of study this summer. I would also add that Cleveland - the 3rd best team in the AFC North - would win the NFC North or NFC South comfortably, imo. Same with Miami or the Jets - whoever comes in 3rd in the AFC North.
I doubt you can wear gear of both without your friends mocking you. I doubt you can be a diehard of both. But, can you enjoy watching both? Absolutely! I have several non Liverpool sides I enjoy following on a lesser level.

Great as usual Bob! Think we’ll get a early drop in the stack about this Trey Lance trade?

Minnesota was never as good as their record and got exposed. Seahawks and Lions are definitely weaker than all 4 of those afc teams.
None of this detracts from my actual point that the cowboys not making it past the wild card round in this conference would be an abject failure.

Personally, I think eight of the top 12 teams are in the AFC. Since only seven make the playoffs....
KC, BUF, CIN, BAL, NYJ, MIA, JAX, CLE - PHIL, SF, DAL, DET?
3 AFC North teams and 3 AFC East teams -- I don’t know about that, Bob.

Bob, what is the NFL equivalent there...Cowboys fans wearing Texans gear, another NFC team’s gear or NFC East team’s gear?
