Even though the West is the toughest conference in hockey, I really believe Dallas is a cut above. Adding Tanev (technically Stankoven although I don't count him as a "deadline addition") can't be understated. However, I do believe the best team in hockey is Carolina, so were they to meet up in the Finals, it'd come down to who had more left IMO.
Right now I'm so down on the Cowboys that it's hard to feel that this is the best time. The Cowboys were my first love as a kid, but the way that Jerry and Stephen are going about things makes it hard to have optimism.
I had a mistaken memory of the 1969 Mets and Jets being joined by the Nets winning the ABA championship all in a calendar year, if you count New Jersey as part of New York and the ABA as a true title.
Alas, my Google search found the Nets didn’t win until ‘74, although they were in in the finals and came close to making it a sweep of the Greater New York rhyming teams. The Knicks were closer winning their title in 1970.
I should have known Bob wouldn’t make such a mistake.
Great to look back and read this article again a month later now that the Stars and Mavs are in the conference finals. Great time to be a DFW pro sports fan. Nice read Bob!

I LOL'd at "which demonstrates how serious Jerry Jones was about winning it all." Damn us all to hell for supporting that guy's team.
Meanwhile down at The Star…

Make us care, Cowboys.
