This is all we can ever ask for as fans. The chance to leave it all on the field in pursuit of the elusive dream.
Day by day the Jerry Jones hype train looks sillier and sillier. One day the Cowboys will have this kind of team again, but for the talent it has, it’s sure soft when the chips are down.
When you told me to keep the hope after game 5 cause we don’t have many options I’m glad I listened to you! Let’s go Rangers!! The wave from Friday night to now is incredible and why we love sports
I was ready to have my Sports Heart broken (again) but hope still lives. Game Seven, could be a triumph or a tragedy but either way, what a wild and entertaining ride. Thanks for providing the quick thoughts after each game.
A friend texted me this. Tonight’s game feels like a pro wrestling match with the Rangers as the ultimate baby faces (good guys) and the Astros the ultimate heels (bad guys).
In pure fact your statement that the Rangers had to have this game is not true. They could have easily rolled over after the crushing losses as in Game 5, but instead, they got up, dusted themselves off and demonstrated perhaps the greatest display of mental toughness I have ever seen.
Obviously they had to have the game to extend the season one more night, and they did everything they needed to and more.
This team has been hard on its fans with exhilarating highs followed by soul crushing lows that make one believe there’s no way they comeback from the dead this time. But they do, and have over and over again. The Rangers are a phenomenon that defies belief.
Tomorrow, I hope every reporter is asking the Astro players about their inability to win home games. If it hasn’t gotten in their head yet, maybe that will plant enough doubt to erode their confidence. They’ll need every bit of that confidence to overcome a Texas team that won’t quit believing. They’ve even got me believing again.
One more game to watch - 54 more outs to agonize over - then we will know whether the Rangers are in the Series.
But make no mistake: we need no additional evidence that they belong on this spot.
The teams have been balanced all year against each other. I think Texas takes it tonight, giving Bruce another game 7 win and leaving Dusty with another game 7 loss.
Great write up. Playoff baseball is definitely not regular season baseball...and a Game 7 is beyond even that. These guys are SO much fun to watch. Bochy has my respect as a manager and these guys...win or lose (and I REALLY hope it is a win), RESPECT!! #GoAndTakeIt🇨🇱
I’m in my own personal Spring Training, getting ready for Opening Day. My prep work exists entirely of re-reading your “three thoughts” for the playoffs.
Greatness, Bob. You’re my “how to fan” leader.
Great 3 thoughts, Bob. One small typo though. You wrote, "he was joined by folks on couches everywhere..." We were standing, Bob 😉
These are the grittiest Texas Rangers I’ve ever seen.

Playoff baseball. Boy howdy.

Exhilarating, exhausted, and expectant. You hit all the right notes.

We need Mad Max tonight. Not angry or bothered Max. Mad Max.
Game 6 was epic.

Bob, stop making me sports-cry!
